Starting March 2012, the Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog will be organizing a new annual event: a week of Schiermonnikoog Masterclasses. Earlier experience has proven that Schiermonnikoog is the ideal place for talent to grow, thanks to the quiet atmosphere of the natural surroundings and a unique island culture.

Schiermonnikoog Masterclasses consist of four parallel masterclasses (violin, viola, violoncello and piano). Participants may be invited to play  during the Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog in October. In addition to musical training, participants will also work on the other side of  professional growth. Three topics are key:

Communication
Students work on questions such as: what can I do to stand out from the crowd? How can I make optimal use of my website? How do I write a press release? A photographer will be on hand to make good publicity shots.

Relaxation
Each day begins with relaxation exercises. Each student will receive personalized advice on how to deal with stress. Students can also enjoy various massage activities.

Presentation
In these sessions, students will work on stage presence, including posture and dress sense. During a recording session, issues specific to playing in front of a microphone will be discussed.

Masterclasses and presentation concerts can be attended by a paying audience.

Fees and application
Participation fee masterclasses: € 350.
Accommodation (7 nights based on a room for two persons, incl. breakfast, lunch and dinner): € 250.
